Mason County
Studio Resort
In an effort to curb the compulsion to constantly check the clock while being creative in the studio, Mason County Studio Resort (MCSR) aims to shift a musician's perspective on what it means to take time in a recording space.
Owner and creator Mason Bonner, originally from Atlanta, GA and having built his career in Chicago, noticed how often artists in studios get too caught up in budgets and time constraints. Craving a connection to nature amid urban development himself, Mason saw a way to merge two seemingly opposite worlds: the recording studio and the great outdoors.
After relocating to Mason County, Washington - specifically, the town of Hoodsport, Mason set out to create a space where one could indulge in outdoor recreation, relax by the waterfront, gain elevation in the surrounding mountains, and simultaneously lock in at the studio to fully craft a project or piece of art. It’s a place where meticulous work and precious time are not only honored, but expanded on to the fullest.
